Dear ,

Here is a new Progressive Secretary letter. You will be able to edit your name, address, etc. in the next step.

This action is supported by DemandProgress.org and supports a bill introduced by Senator Dianne Feinstein to amend the Non-Detention Act of 1971 by providing that a Congressional authorization for the use of military force does not authorize the indefinite detention—without charge or trial—of U.S. citizens who are apprehended domestically.

The U.S. Constitution gives every American citizen the basic due process right to a trial on their charges. This civil right has been shredded with the passage of the National Defense Authorization Act, which authorizes the indefinite detention without trial of American citizens by our military.

The Due Process Guarantee Act of 2011, sponsored by Senator Dianne Feinstein and others, would restore this basic freedom. At least forty Senators have already recognized the need for this NDAA amendment.
Please help reinstate our Constitutional right to due process by supporting the passage of S.2003 and H.R.3702.
