Dear Progressive Secretary Supporter

Here is a new Progressive Secretary letter.

This letter supports an action by The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, a coalition of more than 200 national organizations opposing the nomination of attorney Brett Talley because he is not qualified for such an appointment.

Your email will be sent to your Senators. VOTE EXPECTED AS EARLY AS MONDAY.

Please oppose Brett Talley's confirmation as U.S. district court judge. The American Bar Association has unanimously rated him “Not Qualified," which it has done only four times since 1989,

As judge, Attorney Talley would preside over trials, although he has never tried a case. He hasn't even argued a motion in federal court. In fact, he has practiced law for only 3 years since graduating 10 years ago.

Most troubling, Mr. Talley failed to disclose that his wife is the chief of staff to the White House counsel. Although he may be able to avoid conflicts while on the bench, the Senate should have had that information when making a decision about his nomination.

Attorney Talley’s lack of experience and his lack of candor make him a poor choice for this position. Vote “no” on his confirmation.

Sincerely,

Kathie Turner, Executive Director
