Dear Progressive Secretary Supporter

Here is a new Progressive Secretary letter.

This letter supports actions by the ACLU, the National Women's Law Center, the Leadership Conference on Civil & Human Rights which includes more than 200 organizations, and a variety of medical associations, including Physicians for Reproductive Health.

PWFA requires employers with 15 or more employees to provide reasonable accommodations to pregnant workers.

We’ll send your letter to your Congress member.

I urge you to champion the rights of pregnant workers. Support H.R. 2694, the “Pregnant Workers Fairness Act” (PWFA).

Too many employers force women to take unpaid leave when they ask for simple modifications so that they can continue to work safely. Too many women leave their jobs for lack of minor workplace adjustments.

PWFA requires employers to provide reasonable accommodations to pregnant workers experiencing workability limitations due to pregnancy unless doing so would impose an undue hardship on the employer. For thirty years, the ADA has required employers to do this for people with disabilities.

Please support the bipartisan “Pregnant Workers Fairness Act,” H.R. 2694.
