Dear Progressive Secretary Supporter

Here is a new Progressive Secretary letter.

This letter supports actions by Common Cause, the National Education Association, the Sierra Club, Indivisible, and many others asking Senators to oppose any candidate not nominated by the person elected president in the next election (November 3, 2020).

We will send your letters to your Senators

The Senate must not consider Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg’s replacement until after the next inauguration.

In 2016, Republicans delayed a Supreme Court confirmation for nearly ten months — until President Trump took office. Then, Senate Majority Leader McConnell said, “We think the important principle in the middle of this presidential year is that the American people need to weigh in and decide who’s going to make this decision.”

The Senate should follow that standard now. On November 3, 2020, the nation will decide who should nominate the next Supreme Court Justice. Please honor that decision.

Please oppose any nominee not chosen by the president inaugurated on January 20, 2021.
