Dear Progressive Secretary Supporter

Here is another letter from Progressive Secretary.

This letter supports a campaign by Greenpeace and other environmental organizations. It asks Congress to pass the “Polluters Pay Climate Fund Act.” The legislation makes those companies that polluted most and profited most pay for the climate damage they’ve caused.

We will send your email letters to your Senators and your Congress member

Fossil fuel companies spent decades denying climate science. Now they’re working to keep climate solutions out of both of the infrastructure bills, and it’s time to stop them.

Senator Van Hollen introduced the “Polluters Pay Climate Fund Act.” It assesses a fee on major oil and gas companies based on the amount of greenhouse gases they emitted from 2000 to 2019.
According to Van Hollen, the fee’s “based on a simple but powerful idea that polluters should pay to help clean up the mess they caused, and that those who polluted the most should pay the most. Those who have profited the most should help now pay the damages that they’ve already caused.”

I strongly urge you to vote for the “Polluters Pay Climate Fund Act.”.
