Dear Progressive Secretary Supporter

Here is another letter from Progressive Secretary.

This letter supports campaigns by the Daily KOS, Social Security Works, Health Care Voices, the Coalition on Human Needs, and others. It asks Congress to include H.3, the “Elijah E. Cummings Lower Drug Costs Now Act,” in the budget reconciliation bill.
This bill originally passed in the House in 2019 but stalled in Mitch McConnell's Senate.
We will send your email messages to your Representative and your Senators

Prescription drugs are needlessly expensive, with many increasing at over ten times the rate of inflation. High costs now prevent 30% of adults from getting their prescriptions.

H.R. 3 would allow the HHS to negotiate lower prices on many of the highest-priced drugs directly with pharmaceutical companies. These lower prices would also be available to private insurers and employers, allowing tens of millions more to benefit.

80% of adults believe prescription drugs are unreasonably expensive, while even more support allowing the government to negotiate drug prices.

H.R. 3 passed by a bipartisan vote in 2019. Let's make it law now.
