Dear Progressive Secretary Supporter,
Here is another action alert from Progressive Secretary. Our letter supports campaigns by Progress America, Americans for Tax Fairness Action Fund, Common Cause, and US Mail Not For Sale. It asks the U.S. Senate to take steps to protect the U.S. Postal Service as it confirms new members to the Postal Board of Governors. The postmaster general and former USPS Board of Governors’ chair have eroded the Post Office’s universal service and public ownership. The Senate must ensure that the new Board of Governor nominees commit to repairing that damage. Click here to send this letter or to learn more (you can edit the letter in the next step, if you wish).
We will send you email message to your senators.
Confirmed nominees must grow existing postal infrastructure rather than shutting down or privatizing parts of it. They should expand the postal banking pilot program.
Nominees must also commit to reversing the postal slowdown and prioritizing election-related mail. They should also provide real oversight of the postmaster general, investigating his financial conflicts of interest.
Senator, please protect the Post Office.
Kathie Turner, Executive Director
