Dear Progressive Secretary Supporter,
Here is another action alert from Progressive Secretary. Our letter supports a campaign by Social Security Works. They oppose the confirmation of Andrew Biggs because Biggs has advocated for Social Security cuts and privatization throughout his career. Andrew G. Biggs has no business on the Social Security Advisory Board. He’s spent his entire professional life advocating for dismantling that program — a program upon which millions of current and future Social Security recipients rely. Click here to send this letter or to learn more (you can edit the letter in the next step, if you wish).
We’ll send your email messages to your Senators.
In 2005, Biggs was instrumental in President George W. Bush’s attempt to privatize Social Security. His position has never changed, which is why the New York Times Editorial Board called him “a zealous advocate of privatizing Social Security.”
In 2013, Biggs testified before the Senate in favor of raising the retirement age for Social Security. Doing so would take years of earned benefits away from every American.
Please protect Social Security. Oppose Andrew G. Biggs’s confirmation to the Social Security Advisory Board.
Kathie Turner, Executive Director
