MEMBERSHIP & LEADERSHIP

National Webinar, Wednesday, September 21, 2 PM (ET): Shaping Tomorrow – Registering Voters and Building the League (NEW)
League members know that registering to vote is a key step in casting that vote!  Please join us for this webinar designed to share tips about best practices to maximize your voter registration efforts.  We’ll share ideas and techniques to help register under-represented groups, highlight our high school voter registration materials and include ideas to help you build the League while serving our democracy through registering voters. Please register for this session here.

Did Your League Celebrate Women’s Equality Day? Share Your Event with LWVUS
Did your local League plan and execute a great event to celebrate and commemorate Women’s Equality Day this August 26th? The LWVUS would love to hear about it! Tell us about your League event. We’ll send your League five LWV buttons if you submit your story by Wednesday, Sept 7th - and your League may be highlighted in an upcoming online national newsletter or on the newly redesigned LWVUS website later this year. Also, share it on Facebook.

Be Sure that Your League’s Leaders are In Communication with Us:  Update the Membership Database (NEW)
When LWVUS communicates with your League’s leaders, we use the information that is available in the LWVUS member database.  Be sure that your League’s information is correct!  Need help accessing or updating the database? Contact Betty Taira at BTaira@lwv.org.

Leaving a Legacy
Including the League of Women Voters Education Fund in your will is among the easiest ways to offer support of the LWVEF's work for years to come. We suggest the following language to include the League as a beneficiary of a will or trust: " I give, devise, and bequeath to the League of Women Voters Education Fund, a charitable organization formed in the District of Columbia, with offices at 1730 M Street, NW, Washington, DC, 20036, {the sum of $___ } {___ percentage of my residuary estate}." If you already have a will, you can have your attorney add a codicil to include the LWVEF. After you've added the League, please contact the Development office by email so we can list you as a member of our Carrie Chapman Catt Legacy Society.
