League of Women Voters

Dear Friend,

Care2Thank you for joining the League of Women Voters online community through Care2! You’ve joined thousands of other activists in sending a powerful message to your Senators about stopping the secret spending in elections and to restore transparency.

For over 90 years, the League of Women Voters has fought to educate and engage Americans on the issues impacting their communities. Rooted in the movement that secured the right to vote for women, the League strives to expand participation and give a voice to all Americans. We believe that people form the basis of a strong democracy. Year in and year out, Leagues across the country are committed to providing fact-based information about issues directly from the candidates to help voters make their own decisions and participate in the process. Our issues are grounded in our respected history of making democracy work for all citizens.

Joining our online community is just the first step toward working with other activists and community volunteers to help the League educate and engage members of your community. Here are additional steps you can take to do even more –

The League of Women Voters never supports or opposes candidates for office, or political parties.  We believe deeply that the public should hear different views on the issues facing our communities because an honest and respectful sharing of ideas is vital to the functioning of American democracy.  League members mobilize around issues that matter in their states and their communities, helping the League serve as a voice for citizens and a force for change.

Thank you again for your interest and support, and welcome to our online community!

Sincerely,

Elisabeth MacNamara
