2013 may not have been a federal election year, but it was still an important year for voting and elections, which means that League volunteers, members, staff and supporters worked tirelessly once again Making Democracy Work®.
In the past year alone, our supporters have helped protect our democracy by thwarting widespread voter suppression efforts, educating and empowering voters, leading the fight to protect our climate and so much more. These are just some of the highlights of the incredible work done by our members across the country and here in Washington included in our year-in-review slideshow.

As 2013 comes to a close and we begin preparing for the 2014 election cycle, we’re already hard at work gearing up for programs to protect and empower millions of voters in 2014. Next year, we’re committed to stepping up our work to register more new voters, hold more candidate forums, provide more ballot information and help all eligible voters participate in our electoral process. We’ll also keep pushing for necessary environmental regulations to protect our planet for future generations and working to keep secret money out of our elections
Thank you for your hard work and dedication to the League of Women Voters. Without your help and support, we would not have so many accomplishments to share – we look forward to Making Democracy Work® in 2014.
Wishing you and yours a very happy and healthy holiday season.
President, League of Women Voters
PS: I ask you to reflect on what a difference the League of Women Voters is making for all citizens in this country, and urge you to help us continue our work to strengthen our great democracy by giving a tax-deductible contribution today.
