Tomorrow, President Barack Obama will deliver the final State of the Union address of his presidency at 9 pm Eastern. This annual speech provides an opportunity for the President to address both chambers of Congress, as well as the millions of Americans who tune in on radio, TV and online, to outline his key policy proposals for 2016. State of the Union

Like the recent presidential debates, the State of the Union typically draws millions of viewers. But, for even the most passionate policy wonk, distilling the speech can be difficult. That’s why we’ve put together five quick tips to get the most out of the President’s speech.

After reading our easy tips, tune into the speech and join us on Twitter as we live tweet the speech, drawing particular attention to when the President’s speech aligns with the League’s priority issues, including voting rights, money in elections and protecting the environment.
