Town Halls This Saturday, 2/17 and Beyond
Every year, most legislators hold town hall meetings in their district to hear from their constituents. Many of these town halls will be occurring this Saturday, although some are planned for different days.
This is an important opportunity for you to have your voice heard. With many of our priority bills moving forward this session, we hope you have a lot to say. It is critical that you attend your town hall and speak out so we don’t lose momentum on voting rights, campaign finance reform, and other key issues!
Rather than simply ask about their thoughts or feelings on an issue, it is important to ask what they are doing specifically to help pass a bill or solve a problem. Below are suggested questions, but you certainly can ask others. You may find it helpful to review the most recent LWVWA Legislative Newsletter and our issue pages to review some of the other bills we are working on.
Please ask your legislators:
If your lawmakers already voted yes on one of these bills, remember to thank them! You can find a list of the town hall meetings that we know have been scheduled here.
Don’t go alone! Invite your friends and neighbors to join you.
