Dear Friend ,
League President Elisabeth MacNamara
on the road before
The last few days of election 2010 are upon us and we are working at a fever pitch to be sure we get our important nonpartisan voter education messages to as many eligible voters as possible. Please help us by forwarding this message to family, friends, neighbors and colleagues so that we can do our part to educate voters and make sure people get to the polls.
- VOTE411.org, our “one-stop-shop” for election information is the single best resource for voters on the Internet. With just days left to the election, VOTE411.org — including our helpful polling place locator — is the site to visit before heading to the polls. Already this election season, VOTE411.org has had nearly 600,000 site visits and nearly 5 million page views. The site now covers races in 21 states and more than 4,200 candidates across the country. Visit VOTE411.org and tell your friends to do the same!
- As I have traveled around the country this election season, my work has allowed me to meet with many local League volunteers, media outlets, members of the public, and elections officials. These travels have helped ensure that the League’s critical work to empower every eligible citizen to vote is advanced and well-known throughout the country. I hope you have followed my election 2010 tour by reading my new blog!
- While I was in Houston, I met with League volunteers who are working to encourage young people to register to vote through our 2010 High School Registration Project, now wrapping up in five states. Check out this first-hand account from one of our volunteers, who were all so energized in their work to bring more young people into the election.
We’re just a few days out from next week’s pivotal midterm elections. Time is running out so visit VOTE411.org – and tell your friends to do the same - to make sure you have everything you need to go vote!
P.S. How are you preparing for Election Day? Visit our Facebook page and tell us how you are getting ready to vote.
